Chapitre.com Opens Chain's Biggest Bookstore

Only twelve weeks had passed from the signing of the lease for the space to the festive opening: the French DirectGroup subsidiary Chapitre.com opened its most recent bookstore in a shopping mall in Tours. With 1,800 square meters, it is the biggest store of the entire chain.

Richard Bietry, Directeur D’Exploitation, explained: "What's new about this store is that we offer educational games in a special section. In addition, there is a corner especially for teenagers, distinguished by color. I strongly believe that this store will be a success because our offer is custom-tailored for the clientele we expect to see here."

DirectGroup France acquired 100 percent of Chapitre.com in January after having held a 49.5 percent stake in the French bookstore. With the complete takeover DirectGroup now aims to do precisely what it is now doing in Tours: optimally network the real and virtual bookstore – both bundled in the so-called "Pôle Libraire" – under one brand umbrella and thus expanding the service for customers.
